I had quite the productive day between running to the post office to mail my dad’s birthday card to Afghanistan, purchasing healthy groceries, making vegetarian chili with cornbread (thank you Betty Crocker), and cleaning out my dresser of clothes having not been worn in months or years!

I came up with a full bag of clothes (plus a shirt that the The Husband was wanting to get rid of) and they’re ready by the door to head to The Salvation Army first thing tomorrow morning!
After packing up the clothes I loaded up Zumba on the Wii. I thoroughly enjoy using this method! While I would, of course, prefer going to a true Zumba class a few times a week… it’s just not feasible with me being unemployed. So as a “Happy 25th Birthday to me” a few weeks ago, I purchased Zumba for the Wii and have used it many times since!

All you need is the Zumba game, the Zumba Fitness Belt (that should come with the game), and you will want some water with you as well – it is quite the workout!

I was actually quite doubtful that I would enjoy the “game” as much as the class, but I found myself getting much more into the dance moves, since the only one I was trying to impress was the lady on the screen, the energy bar, and the pup who stares intently (and who is probably concerned that I’m going to pass out on the floor and will not be capable of feeding him dinner).

Make sure to wear the Zumba Fitness Belt right on your hips to be sure it reads it properly. I have found that much of the “energy bar” that reads how much “energy” you have really is reading how much you’re moving those hips of yours! I’m doing well, if I do say so myself.

Just follow along, and enjoy! I’m still doing the Beginner Levels, since I don’t know many of the moves. They do have tutorials, but I’m last born/youngest in my family – and I have the attention span of a gold fish.
What do you think of fitness games? Any others you like out there? How do they compare to the real thing?
I have been wanting to try this but have been concerned that it would be really hard. After reading this I think I am ready to at least give it a try! Thanks.
It’s not too difficult, I don’t think! They do give you tutorials on the moves, and you have different levels – beginner, intermediate, and expert. Let me know what you think!
I feel the most important part is having fun with it, whether it’s the game or a class!
